*Based on Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles* After the events of "Sonic the Hedgehog 2", Dr. Robotnik has discovered the mysterious floating island known as Angel Island. There, he meets Knuckles the Echidna, guardian of the sacred Master Emerald. He tricks Knuckles into thinking that Sonic and his friends are trying to steal the Master Emerald. Meanwhile, Sonic and company get to Angel Island. But when they get there the encounter Knuckles, who beats Sonic in a fight. Description of Knuckles the Echidna:

Knuckles was only a child when his tribe, and his parents, were extinguished by a mysterious monster involved with the Master Emerald. Tikal's spirit gave him a mission to guard and protect the Master Emerald at all costs. Knuckles was trained by the Echidna spirits in their ways, taught in all lethal forms of combat, and now he is ready to destroy everyone who gets in his way. When Robotnik arrived, Knuckles made it his duty to destroy those who dared to take the Master Emerald. He even told Robotnik that he'd crush their skulls until they become the very soil they're buried in.
