Description of Luciana Tanicello-McKinney^ (Luci):

The wife of Captain, later Battalion Chief, Douglas McKinney. Born and raised in Italy, she immigrated to the United States in the 1980s, eventually becoming a citizen by the time the story begins. Known for her beauty, she had once been a model years prior, using the finances to pay her way through nursing school. She now works as a nurse in upper Manhattan, specializing in burn victims, making it almost ironic that she's married to a firefighter, and will have her hands full on the day of the attacks.
