Everything begins to be looking more and more lost for the Rebel Alliance after information gets out about a powerful weapon that is being made by the Empire. A pilot from the Empire goes awol to get information from Galen Erso to Saw Gerrera. Mon Mothma and the Rebellion leadership send Cassian Andor to free Jyn Erso, Galen's daughter and an old fighter with Gerrera, from Imperial captivity to help them.
