Description of Dr. William Birkin (Virologist):

Dr. William Birkin was one of the leading scientists behind the t-Virus and discoverer of the Golgotha Virus. The U.S.S. squad was sent out on a race to confiscate the virus first. In the standoff, Birkin was gunned down after attempting to resist. The injured Birkin infected himself with a remaining G sample and transformed into a large and powerful "G" mutant. Intent on vengeance, Birkin followed the U.S.S. into the sewers and they were all either killed or seriously injured. To guarantee no more samples were at risk of theft, Birkin ate the "G" samples. In the process, he also destroyed several "t" samples, allowing rats to consume them and spread the virus into the city's water supply.
