Synopsis

"Power to the People" is an electrifying biopic that delves deep into the life and legacy of Huey P. Newton, co-founder of the Black Panther Party. From his upbringing in poverty-stricken Oakland to his rise as a revolutionary icon, this film chronicles Newton's journey through adversity, activism, and the pursuit of justice. In the turbulent era of the 1960s, Huey P. Newton emerged as a towering figure in the fight against racial oppression and inequality. As a young man, he witnessed firsthand the injustices faced by Black Americans in his community. Determined to make a difference, Newton, alongside Bobby Seale, founded the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, igniting a movement that would challenge the status quo and inspire generations to come.

Description of Robert Seale (Bobby):

Robert George Seale is an American political activist and author. Seale is widely known for co-founding the Black Panther Party with fellow activist Huey P. Newton. Founded as the "Black Panther Party for Self-Defense", the Party's main practice was monitoring police activities and challenging police brutality in Black communities, first in Oakland, California, and later in cities throughout the United States.
