Synopsis

"Power to the People" is an electrifying biopic that delves deep into the life and legacy of Huey P. Newton, co-founder of the Black Panther Party. From his upbringing in poverty-stricken Oakland to his rise as a revolutionary icon, this film chronicles Newton's journey through adversity, activism, and the pursuit of justice. In the turbulent era of the 1960s, Huey P. Newton emerged as a towering figure in the fight against racial oppression and inequality. As a young man, he witnessed firsthand the injustices faced by Black Americans in his community. Determined to make a difference, Newton, alongside Bobby Seale, founded the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, igniting a movement that would challenge the status quo and inspire generations to come.

Fredrick "Chairman Fred" Allen Hampton Sr. was an American activist. He came to prominence in his late teens and very early 20s in Chicago as deputy chairman of the National Black Panther Party and chair of the Illinois chapter.
