Synopsis

"Parklife: The Blur Story" is a dynamic, multi-episode biopic miniseries chronicling the meteoric rise, creative highs, and personal struggles of one of Britain’s most iconic bands, Blur. Set against the vibrant backdrop of the 1990s, the series immerses viewers in the cultural explosion of the Britpop era, exploring Blur’s evolution from scrappy art-school students to global superstars. Through its central quartet—frontman Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James, and drummer Dave Rowntree—the series captures the raw energy, clashing egos, and collaborative genius that defined Blur. It explores the band’s initial failures, breakthrough with Modern Life Is Rubbish, domination with Parklife and The Great Escape, and the intense rivalry with Oasis that gripped the UK. But Parklife isn’t just about chart battles and sold-out shows. It's an intimate portrait of four young men navigating fame, identity, and creative tension. Philip William Daniels is an English actor, musician and singer, most noted for film and television roles playing Londoners, such as the lead role of Jimmy Cooper in Quadrophenia, Richards in Scum, Stewart in The Class of Miss MacMichael, Danny in Breaking Glass, Mark in Meantime, Billy Kid in Billy the Kid and the Green Baize Vampire, Kevin Wicks in EastEnders, DCS Frank Patterson in New Tricks, and Grandad Trotter in the Only Fools and Horses prequel Rock & Chips. He is also known for featuring on Blur's 1994 hit single "Parklife".
