Description of Raquel Cohen:
A beautiful and divine 30-year-old Jewish woman. Dâmaso's cousin, the banker Cohen's wife, but secretly has an affair with Ega. Her marriage doesn't last long, because, after her husband finds out she's unfaithful, he beats her up and they divorce. She's tall, pale, especially under the lights, fragile of health, with a brokenness in her crushed eyes, yet with magnificently dark wavy heavy hair falling all the way down to her naked back. Although gorgeous, Raquel has a devious and superficial soul, being futile and coquette, using Ega only for the sole purpose of her entertainment, leading him on.
