Synopsis

At that time, Paramount set Star Trek: Discovery writer Kalinda Vazquez to write the script for a new Star Trek film, based on her own original idea, with Abrams' Bad Robot producing.[56] A month later, the studio scheduled an untitled Star Trek film for release on June 9, 2023.[57] In July 2022, another independent film was announced, and is set to be written by Lindsey Beer and Geneva Robertson-Dworet and directed by Matt Shakman. It is set to begin filming in Spring of 2022.[58]
