Synopsis

Based on the M-rated action-horror video game. In a town called San Romero, high school cheerleader Juliet Starling is celebrating her 18th birthday with her tough and raunchy, yet loving, family. She has also invited her boyfriend, Nick Carlyle, to the party, which is also when he'll meet her family for the first time. But on that morning as she gets to school to meet Nick, Juliet notices that the school is infested with zombies. That's right, ZOMBIES! After Nick saves Juliet from being approached by one which results in him getting bitten, Juliet does risky move: decapitating him with her bedazzled chainsaw and performing a magical ritual on his head. After reviving a freaked out Nick, Juliet reveals that she and her family are zombie hunters. They also run into her old Sensei, who tells the pair that someone opened a portal to the dimension, Rotten World, by using black magic and explosives. They find the culprit, an expelled student who performs a dark ritual out of spite for his miserable life. The ritual involves waking up the Dark Purveyors, powerful zombies that are basically manifestations of different music genres. While trying to stop the madness, Juliet and Nick run into Juliet's trashy sisters, and her badass, yet overprotective father.

Description of Swan (Goth geek who is responsible for the apocalypse):

Before getting expelled, Swan was the goth geek student who was rejected and ridiculed by the student body. I think maybe his parents left him just like that, or he was in abusive foster care? Anyway, he had a crush on Juliet, who tutored him in some classes, and so he hoped she would be different than all other people he knew, but she just so happened to be in an unbreakable relationship with Nick, who was one of his bullies. It was the last straw so he made like Joaquin Phoenix's Joker and started to do murder and evil for fun, by using black magic and explosives to open the door to Rotten World. He even likes to tease our heroes and make brooding faces in the mirror.
