Synopsis

Hal Jordon lost his father and mother during a plane crash that they were on together. He was the only survivor. He is now a test pilot for Ferris Aircraft until he was fired for outing the CEO for corrupt black market deals. One day he discovers a ring from a dying alien and steps into the larger universe of The Green Lantern Corps

Description of Hal Jordon (Green Lantern):

We start our story with Hal testing a new prototype for Farris Aircraft. Another pilot he knows is testing a second one. Suddenly the pilot dies in a crash. Hal tries to save him but freezes when he thinks he sees his father there, his fellow pilot dies. Later Hal finds out that both planes could have exploded and Farris Aircraft knew it, but his girlfriend Carrol tries to convince him not to tell by emotionally manipulating him. Suffering a crisis of conscience he goes On a trip to the park him and his dad used to go. After seeing a ship crash he finds a dying Green Lantern. He is taken to Oa after being given the ring and begins training under Sinestro and to learn to find his courage.
