Description of Charles de Gaulle (France(exile)):

Charles de Gaulle (b. 22 November 1890) is a French army leader and a protégé of the "Lion of Verdun", French President and de facto dictator Philippe Pétain. As a veteran of both the Weltkrieg, during which he was imprisoned by the Germans for several months, and the French Civil War, de Gaulle is a highly respected figure in Algiers and wields huge influence in the background of the highest political circles. De Gaulle is known for being close to the integralist, anti-demoratic and monarchist Action Française movement.
