Synopsis

Less than 500 years ago, when the factious infighting that beset Japan required reconnaissance, intelligence and spying in order to ascertain who exactly one's enemies were or might be in the near future, ninjas were at the top of the list. But for centuries, ninjas have gone dark. Now, in the 21st century, that is about to change. In a country so ancient, as well as so connected, the ninja are beginning to make a comeback, birthed from certain Yakuza sectors. And now, one ninja must navigate a new era of Feudal Japan, while overcoming his own conflicts within.

Description of Sojiro Shirohara (The Master):

The master, crime boss, and family head of the Shirohara Clan, Sojiro Shirohara is a feared criminal with a vast network of criminals working under his name. Despite his ruthlessness and reputation for extreme violence, Sojiro is well-liked by his subordinates for his wisdom and strong sense of honor. He has groomed his son, Satoru Shirohara, in taking his place after his death. However, as Satoru grows into a violent teenager and young man, he begins to question who he really wants to be and his family's plans. Sojiro believes the answer lies in Satoru's abilities to take up his father's legacy. Is Satoru capable of the same violent and unforgiving crimes as his father?
