Before Tim Burton directed Batman, Ivan Reitman was approached to direct with Bill Murray as The Caped Crusader. Many have speculated this would be a comedy, when it was considered much grittier. Telling the origin story of Bruce Wayne and showcasing James Bond-esque sequences.
