Description of Police Chief Nick Grivett:
He is a stern and no-nonsense law enforcement official who initially dismisses the concerns of the protagonist, Dr. Miles Bennell, about the pod people. As the alien invasion becomes more widespread, however, Grivett begins to take the threat more seriously and ultimately sacrifices himself in an attempt to stop the alien spores from spreading.
