Synopsis

These casting choices are based on the descriptions from the books and JK Rowlings writings on Wizarding World. These actors are age accurate to the books and considered based on acting ability to pull off character and appearance with the help of makeup. With the exception of Dumbledore who cannot be cast based on age as there are no actors over 100 AND this is a 10 year project so casting someone over 70 limits who will be able to finish the project.

Description of Remus Lupin:

I like the ethnicity change here because it adds another element to the complexity of Lupin’s feeling of isolation. It’s not just that he’s a werewolf, but he also doesn’t feel like he fits in w/ his all white friends. Knowing that he has a different cultural background, condition, and the age difference are even more obstacles to consider when Tonks is falling for him. Plus Dev Patel is great!
