Synopsis

Brash space adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the quarry of relentless bounty hunters after he steals an orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain. To evade Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with four disparate misfits: gun-toting Rocket Raccoon, treelike-humanoid Groot, enigmatic Gamora, and vengeance-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when he discovers the orb's true power and the cosmic threat it poses, Quill must rally his ragtag group to save the universe.

Description of Cosmo the Dog:

Cosmo is a Labrador-breed dog who possesses enhanced intelligence and psionic abilities. In 1966, she was sent into outer space by the Soviet Union as part of their space exploration program. She was found by the Collector, who kept her on display in his museum on Knowhere, where she was given a collar that allowed her to telepathically speak with others. After the museum was destroyed by the Power Stone, Cosmo was freed and continued to reside freely on Knowhere. A decade later, she reunited with the Guardians of the Galaxy after they purchased Knowhere and officially joined their team as they worked to rebuild Knowhere as a community and their headquarters.
