After the events of Justice League II, Hal Jordan decides to stay on Earth after being away for so long, and protects the Earth from various threats. One of which is a powerful telepath and telekinetic named Hector Hammond, as well as the being known as Star Sapphire, who Hal realizes he might be closer to than originally thought. Whilst fighting these various threats, a man wakes up from a coma named Guy Gardner, who was going to be the original back up to Hal if anything had ever happened to him.
