Synopsis

Flight into the Abyss is a gripping six-part biopic miniseries that explores the tumultuous life and work of Joseph Roth, one of the most enigmatic and insightful writers of the early 20th century. Set against the backdrop of war-torn Europe and the crumbling Austro-Hungarian Empire, the series delves into Roth's experiences as a soldier, journalist, and novelist- capturing both the spirit of his literary genius and the personal demons that shaped his tragic journey. Description of Moses Roth (Joseph):

Moses Joseph Roth was an Austrian-Jewish journalist and novelist, best known for his family saga Radetzky March (1932), about the decline and fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, his novel of Jewish life Job (1930), and his seminal essay "Juden auf Wanderschaft" (1927; translated into English as The Wandering Jews), a fragmented account of the Jewish migrations from eastern to western Europe in the aftermath of World War I and the Russian Revolution. In the 21st century, publications in English of Radetzky March and collections of his journalism from Berlin and Paris created a revival of interest in Roth.
