Cloud Strife, a former elite soldier turned mercenary, who becomes entangled with AVALANCHE, an eco-terrorist group fighting against the Shinra Corporation. Shinra is draining the planet’s life force, known as Mako, for energy. As the group battles Shinra, Cloud confronts his fragmented memories and the resurfacing threat of Sephiroth, a legendary but vengeful former soldier seeking to destroy the planet by summoning a catastrophic meteor.
