Description of Ambiguously Related:
Two characters can look alike, share a last name, and behave in a familial way, but that doesn't mean they necessarily are related. This trope covers characters who are and act in ways consistent with them being relatives, but whose status as such is never directly confirmed. Alternatively, it is confirmed, but in so hard-to-spot a fashion that casual viewers still misunderstand. Or perhaps it is confirmed that they're related, but the fiction is quiet on which way they are related.
