Synopsis

Based on the author's own series known as the Tales of the Falklock Northern Railway which is inspired by the Railway Series and its television version of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends, we get a Parks & Recreation/The Office look at life for all the engines of the railways keeping the Scottish island of Falklock running. Spanning a period from 1968 when steam power was abolished on the British mainland to 1993 when all British Railways were making plans to privatize, we see the female steam and diesel engines of this island in action as they grow and evolve to meet changing times. Engines like Gwyneth, Katie, Gloria, Willow, Linda, Yasmin and Yolanda keep the branch lines going as best as possible. On the main lines; Victoria, Sophie, Taylor, Quinn, Winnie, Wilma and Veronica keep trains going day and night to keep pace with the roadways and airlines that are facing some trying times.

Description of Gwyneth the Forest Tank Engine (FKNR #111):

Gwyneth is described as being a cheeky and fussy little engine. She often gets into scrapes, usually by being over-eager to do things best left to bigger and more sensible engines. But clouds never last long in Gwyneth's life and she is soon bustling about again, playing her part in the yard and on her very own branch line between Guinevere and Twin Falls, of which she is extremely proud. She loves teasing others from time to time, especially bigger engines like Taylor and on occasion brags about her superiority, but is always brought down to Earth in due course by anyone willing to correct her, especially the Iron Director and her two coaches, Zachary and Xavier.
