  • ifancast In hindsight, he's probably not the best choice for the role (he might even be better for the real Cap), but I think Ford would've been great in the role. I personally like Walker as a character a lot even though I know I probably won't like the guy as the show progresses. He has a lot of layers to him, and I think Harrison is a good enough actor to pull them off. But yeah

    • mystoreo___   @ifancast You have an interesting point, but for me, he'd make a better Steve Rogers because of his dashing all-American look and the parallels between Indiana Jones and Steve Rogers. And also, in reply to nathanbates comment, I'd never thought of him as Hawkeye-----it would be quite interesting to see it.

    • nathanbates   @mystoreo___ I do believe Ford could have been a great Cap but there’s a fundamental difference to his approach of the squared jawed pulp hero archetype. Ford imbued Indy with a modern (by early 80s standards) swagger and slight cynicism. The novelty of Evans’ portrayal of Cap is that after years of Ford imitators, he played it totally earnest. So I think a character like Hawkeye, who’s more traditionally smarmy while still being a bit of a square, plays better to Ford’s strengths.

    • nathanbates   @ifancast I always thought Ford was a bit too outwardly cool for Steve Rogers. My ideal avenger for him would probably be Hawkeye but Walker is good too.
