1 comment on Elvira of the Dark

  • harel Elvira is living peacefully and fabulously in her residency in Las Vegas, but she is bored with her showgirl act and wants to go on a world tour. The management refuses, saying she's too valuable. She is not happy about it and threatens to leave the residency. One day, a strange looking hearse parks outside her hotel. From it exits Lady Mavilda. Mavilda tells Elvira she contacted her to join her coven. Elvira is ecstatic about this prospect but unsure of leaving her new found community. She decides to go with Lady Mavilda. When she arrives, Elvira notices the other witches are being sercetive with her. She wants to know what the other witches are hiding from her, and she interrupts a nightly councel meeting. Lady Mavilda tries to convince Elvira that nothing is going on, but Elvira will not be fooled. On a shopping day she sneaks away from the two other witches and into a Hot Gossip, there she meets a cashier, Yasmin. Yasmin is impressed with Elvira's looks and starts questioning her. Elvira says she doesn't have enough time to sit and chat, and asks Yasmin if she heard about Lady Mavilda's coven, "The Dark". Yasmin says she never heard of a coven under that name, but she saw that name on TV, involving disappearences of women. Elvira thanks Yasmin, but upon trying to exit the store, the two witches she sneaked away from appear in front of her. She escapes, not without almost destroying the shopping center, into the woods. There she is lost and tries to figure out what to do. A park ranger sees her and tries to shoot this frightening vampire-looking stranger, but ends up slipping and almost shoots himself in the knee . She is startled but tends to his wound. She drags him to his Ranger car and wants to drive him back to his house. They develop a conversation, she finds out his name is Carson, and he finds out she's on the run from a coven. He doesn't believe her at first, but then she points out the name of the coven's leader, Lady Mavilda. He swears he heard this name before. They arrive at his house and that appears to be the end of their relationship. When she returns to the coven, they are furious with her for leaving. Elvira doesn't flinch and asks what are they hiding from her. The witches refuse to speak out except for one. Henrietta. She takes Elvira to her chamber and tells her about Lady Mavilda's true story: when Mavilda was a teenager, she was thrown out of her home for being a delinquent. No one in the town would accept her, and she vows to make them pay one day. She encounters a witch, Manifesta the Great, who takes her under her wing. Mavilda learned the arts of black magic, blood possession and mind control. Mavilda became so powerful that Manifesta saw her as a threat to humankind and tried to kill her. Mavilda killed Manifesta on the spot and was hell-bent on creating a commune of outsiders like her, so she would never have to be alone again. Mavilda began to kidnap girls from the town and erasing their memories of a previous lives so that they'd be dedicated to her and her alone. Elvira is thankful for Henrietta to tell such a big secret, but Henrietta falls motionless soon after. Elvira is shocked and sees Lady Mavilda right behind her, accompanied by her dedicated coven. Elvira confronts Mavilda, questioning her about everything she's done to Manifesta, to the girls, everything. Mavilda doesn't show any remorse, saying that she would do it to every girl on the planet, and finally tells Elvira why she chose her for her coven. When she killed her "uncle", Vincent, the sounds of his screams were heard all around the world, but only to witches' and warlocks' ears. When such a scream of pain from a Supreme Warlock was heard, Mavilda knew she wanted the powers of whoever killed this Supreme. When she found out it was Elvira, she quickly joined Elvira to the coven to get Elvira's great powers for her own. Then a big fight begins between Elvira and Mavilda. They both use their powers to the max, and the show of powers is so big, that the town can see the colors of the explosions from afar. Yasmin and Carson individually see the explosions and drive there. They meet at the place of the fight, which now is just ruins of what used to be a mansion, and attempt to throw some rocks at Mavilda. Mavilda in turn entraps them inside a ball of energy, nearly suffocating both of them. Elvira can't stand to see innocent bystanders get hurt for no reason, and uses her most forceful display of magic yet. She blasts Mavilda far away, into a lake, but the spell was too strong for her and she falls to the ground. Yasmin and Carson run to help her, but find that she is motionless. Henrietta comes out of hiding to heal Elvira, and luckily it works. Elvira comes back to life and is relieved to find out that everyone is safe. With the defeat of Lady Mavilda, the girls retain their memories and panic. Elvira asks Yasmin and Carson to drive them back to the town so they can find their families. She asks Henrietta how did she survive after Mavilda killed her. Henrietta says she didn't kill her, but suspended her heartbeats for an few hours, and said that Lady Mavilda did that to anyone who didn't obey her. Elvira decides to take Henrietta with her to Las Vegas after she found out Henriette has no parents. Elvira quits the residancy in Las Vegas and goes on her world tour, combining her showgirl act with her magic spells. Elvira and Henrietta live Spookily Ever After. The End.
