The End of the War
The War of the Lance reaches its apocalyptic climax. The Whitestone Armies, united under the brilliant command of the Golden General Laurana, make a desperate last stand to defend the city of Kalaman. But victory seems impossible against the endless hordes of the Dragonarmies. Meanwhile, Tanis Half-Elven is a captive in Neraka, the dark capital of the dragon empire. There, he is a pawn in the deadly power plays between his former lover, the Dragon Highlord Kitiara, and the ruthless Emperor Ariakas. The surviving Companions risk a suicidal mission into the heart of enemy territory, knowing the war can only be won by destroying the source of the Dragonarmies' power: the Temple of the Dark Queen herself.
