Dishonored is a 2022 American witchcraft film written, produced and directed by Zack Snyder, based on the video game of the same name. It is the first installment in the dishonored film series. The film stars Josh Duhamel, Harrison Ford, Matthew Goode, Billy Crudup, Billy Zane, and Jon Hamm. It is set during Corvo's return to Dunwall Tower with bad news, and his wife who is an empress, gets murdered in front of him, and then Hiram frames him for it which leads to his escape from prison and finding allies. After multiple unsuccessful attempts to adapt the Dishonored game following a series of critical and financial failure film adaptions to games, Snyder was hired to direct the film. Keanu Reeves was originally cast as Corvo Attano, but dropped out due to scheduling conflicts, and Duhamel was hired in 2020. Dishonored was released to positive reviews, with praise for the film's direction, performances (particularly Duhamel), visual effects, action sequences, tone, music, cinematography, and faithfulness to its source material. It also grossed over $693 million worldwide and became a financial success. A sequel, The Brigmore Queen, was released 2 years later.
