Description of Jim Gordon:
a difficult childhood, learning to fight, and becoming a police officer in Gotham City. Of Scottish descent, Gordon had served in the United States Marine Corps prior to becoming a police officer. In most versions of the Batman mythos, Jim Gordon is at one point or another depicted as commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department.
