Dawn of the Comet: Sailor Moon Zero - Volume I

Fifteen will defend. Two forged into sisters. A seed planted for enemies.

We start out in the younger days of Queens Beryl and Serenity focusing on how they first came to befriend each other and the seeds for what will lead to them eventually splitting and becoming mortal foes with Beryl becoming Queen of the Dark Kingdom trying to enslave Earth and eventually all of the Solar Kingdoms with Queen Serenity of the Moon Kingdom standing in her way to curse both the position of Sailor Earth and planet Earth after the sacrifice of Sailor Sun. Here, however, Beryl is a mere sorceress apprentice on Earth and Serenity is the daughter of Mani and Devana the king and queen of the Moon who are just the puppets of the lurking Diamond Empire. Most of the Solar Kingdoms’ peoples don’t even know their worlds and their space colonies are under the cruel dictatorship of a malevolent force from outside their Solar System. But Beryl and Serenity are soon kidnapped and sent into an arena with eight other princesses to die at the hands of monsters abused by a cruel King Gorgonius XIII and rescued only by the champion who can see the evil happening right under their noses – Queen Dione of the Helios Kingdom alias Sailor Sun herself. Sailor Sun once led an army against the men of Gorgonius but her council betrayed her and left their army to be slaughtered. Beryl and the princesses become the Sailor Scouts all to fight back.
