Shadow is on the ARK overviewing the Earth, lonely and with a sad expression…when suddenly, a pair of hands blind him) Maria: Guess who it iiiiis….(Shadow turns around and sees it’s Maria) Shadow: gah!….Maria. You scared me half to death. Maria: (chuckles) Sorry. I thought you would have made you happy seeing me again. Shadow: (lightly smiles) Well…guess so. So, How’s your sister? Maria: You mean Hope? She’s so cute! I hope that one day I’ll introduce you to her. (Maria sees Shadow sadden again) Shadow? You ok? Shadow:…It’s Abe again. He always finds an excuse to lash out at me, no matter how much I try to be nice to him. He says I’m a monster, is that true? Maria: Don’t say that. You’re my friend. I don’t care if your appearance is intimidating, you’re not a monster. (she smiles at Shadow) You’re always there, because you care for me and for others too. (Shadow smiles back) (Suddenly the alarm rings) Shadow: What’s going on?! (Gerald enters the room) Gerald: I knew I’d find you here. G.U.N. is coming for you, Shadow! I need you and Maria to go to the ejection room, Corridor E-1! Once you’re there, use the escape pods! Maria: What about you, grandpa? Gerald: Dom’t worry about me! I’ll just need to save some files! Now go! (They turn around and see a few G.U.N. soldiers are in the room with them) Agent: Professor Gerald Robotnik. We’ve been ordered to take you and the Ultimate Life Form, Shadow the Hedgehog into custody. Gerald: What do you mean?! I’ve complied with the laws, I’ve done nothing wrong! And Project Shadow is still not complete, I need to save my granddaughter! That was not the deal! We need more time!

(Shadow teleports to the agents) Shadow: Now drop. your. gun. (The agents initially lower their guns, but they point them at Shadow again) Agent: Stupid freak. (The agents initially lower shoots at shadow, but he quickly grabs the bullet and teleports) Agent: What?! Where did he go?! Shadow: I think…I wasn’t clear enough….Agent: OPEN FIRE!!! (Shadow teleports and beats up all the agents, just as another agent points him his gun) Agent: SURRENDER!! (Shadow grabs his gun and points at the agent) Shadow: Leave us alone! Maria: Shadow! Don’t do it! Shadow: but, Maria…he was going to…Maria: You already beat him, you don’t need to kill him! Gerald: she’s right. Just go to the ejection room! Quick! (Shadow disassemble the gun and grabs Maria’s hand) Shadow: Come on, let’s go! (The two quickly run to the ejection room)

(They finally reach the ejection room and Shadow barely opens the door) Shadow: gnnnnn….gnnnnnn…(Maria helps him) (But as they enter the room, they are reached by a group of agents) Agent: freeze! (steps in and protects Maria) agent: come with us and the girl will be unharmed! (Shadow fights the Agents, but he gets overpowered and they grab him) Maria: Shadow! Agent: (points his gun at Maria) Don’t move! This doesn’t have to do with you! (Shadow suddenly turns red and he unleashes a shockwave as he screams in anger, knocking the agents down and passing out) (Maria Grabs Shadow and punts him in an escape pod, just as he comes to his senses) Shadow: Huh? Maria? What are you doing? Maria: I’m sorry Shadow…but I’m not coming…Shadow: What?! You…you promised we would go to Mobius together! Maria: I know…but I don’t want them to hurt you so I’ll stay here. (She walks to Hsadow in the pod and puts her head on it) Please, Shadow, you need to grant the wishes of everyone on Mobius. Make them happy, protect them and the planet’s beauty. Promise me…Shadow: (Shadow touches the pod’s glass as if he’s touching Maria’s hand) I….I promise Maria: Thank you. Sayonara, Shadow the Hedgehog…(Maria approaches the lever, just as a G.U.N. Agent enters the room) Schmitz: Freeze! Get your hands off that lever little one. Shadow: Maria! Don’t do it! (Maria doesn’t listen to the agent’s words and touches the lever, just as Shadow’s words are becoming unaudible) Schmitz: Dom’t make me say it again…I’m not fooling around here! (Maria closes her eyes, as she accepts her fate and pulls the lever) (Schmitz accidentally pulls the trigger and Shadow can only watch in horror as Maria’s shilouette flies backwards) (Present day) Shadow: (Stretches his right arm) MARIAAAA!!! (He realizes that he had a nightmare and that he’s in Sonic and Tails’ room, in his bed, wearing red PJs. As he looks around, he sees Sonic and Tails, still on their beds, all wearing PJs. Sonic is sleeping above his blanket and he’s changing poses trying to be comfortable, and Tails is so tired he sleeps freefaller as he’s dangling his barefeet out of the bed.) (Shadow sits on his butt thinking about the nightmare he had, about reliving the memory of losing Maria) Shadow: not again.
