The symbiote bonding with Kazuo affected him making him violent and erratic. He closed himself off from his loved ones and became a more brutal Spider-Man which Seattle began to fear. However Kazuo eventually realises how the symbiote is affecting him and he discards it. Arthur Kasady, its previous host, bonded with Plague. He planned to ruin Kazuo's life.read more

Grieving Holly's death, Kazuo isolates himself, even sleeping at her grave. Mary Kate confronts him, urging him to move forward despite his loss. After a heated exchange, Kazuo breaks down and apologizes, finding comfort in her support.
