Synopsis

"Courageous Legacy: The Coretta Scott King Story" chronicles the extraordinary life of Coretta Scott King, from her humble beginnings in rural Alabama to becoming a global icon for justice and equality. Set against the backdrop of the tumultuous civil rights era, the film follows Coretta's journey as she meets and marries Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., embarking on a mission to challenge the status quo and fight for the rights of African Americans. As Dr. King leads the charge for civil rights, Coretta emerges as a formidable force in her own right, organizing rallies, leading marches, and advocating for peace and nonviolence. Description of Ralph Abernathy:

Ralph David Abernathy Sr. was an American civil rights activist and Baptist minister. He was ordained in the Baptist tradition in 1948. As a leader of the civil rights movement, he was a close friend and mentor of Martin Luther King Jr. He collaborated with King and E. D. Nixon to create the Montgomery Improvement Association, which led to the Montgomery bus boycott and co-created and was an executive board member of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC).
