Synopsis

"Courageous Legacy: The Coretta Scott King Story" chronicles the extraordinary life of Coretta Scott King, from her humble beginnings in rural Alabama to becoming a global icon for justice and equality. Set against the backdrop of the tumultuous civil rights era, the film follows Coretta's journey as she meets and marries Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., embarking on a mission to challenge the status quo and fight for the rights of African Americans. As Dr. King leads the charge for civil rights, Coretta emerges as a formidable force in her own right, organizing rallies, leading marches, and advocating for peace and nonviolence. Description of Ella Baker:

Ella Josephine Baker was an African-American civil rights and human rights activist. She was a largely behind-the-scenes organizer whose career spanned more than five decades. In New York City and the South, she worked alongside some of the most noted civil rights leaders of the 20th century, including W. E. B. Du Bois, Thurgood Marshall, A. Philip Randolph, and Martin Luther King Jr. She also mentored many emerging activists, such as Diane Nash, Stokely Carmichael, and Bob Moses, as leaders in the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC).
