Basil Karlo is a 20-something rising star in Hollywood, known for his good looks and versatility, but constantly overlooked for the leading roles he craves. Instead, he’s typecast in supporting roles, his ambition stifled by a system that values marketability over talent. Basil dreams of proving himself as a true artist, and when acclaimed filmmaker Victor Malcolm, a Tarantino-esque visionary, promises him the lead in an upcoming prestige project, it seems like his moment has finally come. Basil’s world begins to unravel after a car accident leaves his face severely disfigured, threatening his career. Desperate to reclaim his future, Basil turns to Roland Daggett, a pharmaceutical magnate who offers him an untested serum capable of “restoring” his appearance called “Renuyu” . But the procedure has unintended consequences, transforming Basil into a shape-shifting monster. As his body twists into grotesque forms, his mind begins to fracture, and his once-bright star descends into darkness.
