Synopsis

In the middle of World War II, a young man considered unfit for military service agrees to volunteer in a series of experiments aimed at creating an American super soldier. Acting as something of a celebrity for the army, Steve Rogers feels he can do more than that - especially when Nazi forces reveal their nefarious new plan. This wouldn't be just another story about an American hero. This is the story of a true superhero.

Description of James 'Bucky' Barnes:

[Steve] - Will you cover for me? - As if you needed it. - The Captain America may always need your help too. - [Laugh] If you say so. Come on guys. Rogers' loyal and tenacious friend, Barnes is a soldier dedicated and equally patriotic since starting in the army, joining him to assist him alongside his other colleagues: the belligerent Dum Dum Dugan, and the somewhat quiet but courageous Private Gabe Jones.
