The series takes place in the far future where Michael Jon Carter has a problem with his father's debts since his disappearance. He cares for his mother and to get more money, he starts gambling. One day his own debts are too high, so he has to flee from the people he owes money. During his escape he steals some devices from a scientist. One of those is a time traveling device sending him to our time. Carter has heard of so called superheroes who lived at this time. After he saves the president with the help of his futuristic devices he becomes the hero "Booster Gold". Some time later another timetraveler lands in our time, but this one doesn't seem so good...
