This will be an attempt to re-adapt the book Ask the Dust, written by John Fante that will be loosely based and will take place in modern time instead of the 1930s. It'll have a more different take on the book, but will keep some of the same plot elements. Plot of the remade adaptation: When a young music writer/singer travels to LA for the very first time to pursue a his dream career, he settles down and begins to write and sing one his songs. Having a difficulty to become famous, he almost decides to give up when he comes across a Latina waitress who, ironically, can also sing and write. Almost falling in love with her, he decides to work with her and to create some good music that he's been working on ever since he came to LA for a possible future career as a musical artist.
