Description of Twelfth Doctor:
First Appearance: Time of the Doctor. Michael Keaton's Twelfth Doctor faced initial controversy for the casting of a much older actor, contrasting the previous, younger incarnations. He was also much grumpier and colder, though this set up his character to develop to be much more open and comfortable with himself. Keaton's Twelfth Doctor regenerated after an encounter with Neil Patrick Harris' First Doctor in 'Twice Upon a Time'.
