Description of Mrs. Wickersham (Flashback Ellie's mom/50 years old):

Judith came from a modest but proud background — her father ran a local movie house and her mother was a seamstress. She grew up, living a slightly hard-edged life. She married young to a charming but irresponsible man (Wickersham’s absent father) who abandoned them when Wickersham was still a toddler. She raised her alone. Fiercely independent, no-nonsense, deeply loyal to her son but often harsh with her love. She has a dry, biting sense of humor and little tolerance for self-pity. Her way of showing care is by pushing Wickersham to be tougher and smarter than the world around her.
