Harry, a young man who takes his own life. Two weeks after his tragic death, a classmate named Claire Jensen finds a mysterious box on her porch. Inside the box are recordings made by Harry Baker -- on whom Claire had a crush -- in which he explains the 13 reasons why he chose to commit suicide. If Claire decides to listen to the recordings, she will find out if and how she made the list. This intricate and heart-wrenching tale is told through Claire and Harry's dual narratives.
