there should be a way to flag an actor as deceased, maybe a date of death field that can be filled in under their birthday.
doing this should put some sort of border or maybe a symbol like a tiny lily in the corner of their photo as an overlay, so that no matter what the photo is it shows that that actor is no longer alive.
It may be an nice idea to do, but I have a bad feeling that it could be abused by some spoil sports with their personal vendettas on other actors they hate.
I like the idea.

I think this option for longtime members (a year or more, in my opinion) who have to go through an approval process with the mods/admins should have the privilege to edit to make sure deceased people have passed on, and with an obituary (either through news media or a verified social media account, and despite them having a track record of breaking the news of a celebrity's death first, excluding TMZ from sources of verified information).
