Paul Dano has been cast as The Riddler in Matt Reeves' The Batman. He will be named Edward Nashton, not Nygma, which is a name the character has used in comics before. Dano is best known for his roles in Little Miss Sunshine and There Will Be Blood, but has has many great parts in movies like 12 Years A Slave and Prisoners.
News of the casting comes a few days after Jonah Hill dropped out of talks to play an unspecified villain which tells me either Dano was the choice for The Riddler over Hill or he did not want another part.
So far The Batman is forming a a great cast which includes Robert Pattinson as Batman/ Bruce Wayne, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman/ Selina Kyle and now Dano as The Riddler. The script is rumored to have more villain parts to fill including Two-Face, Firefly and Mad Hatter.
