Frozen 2 Freezes The Competition- Weekend Box Office November 22-24, 2019

Insert Let It Go pun here.

In a move that surprised no one except Elizabeth Banks people flocked to go see a female led movie. Frozen 2 opened #1 with $127 million beating the already high expectations that film had. It is the fifth highest November opening ever. Moreover the movie made $358 million worldwide opening weekend and will look to be the next Disney film to cross $1 billion.

Tom Hanks turn as Mr. Rogers was met with good reviews and a third place opening with $13.5 million. With a budget of only $25 million it will be profitable and have Hanks set up for an Oscar run at Best Actor. Chadwick Boseman's cop drama 21 Bridges opened in fourth with $9.3 million.

Last weeks top film, Ford v Ferrarri, held onto second with $16 million. That is only aboiut a 50% drop from its first weekend. Charlie's Angels dropped to eighth with $3.1 million showing that Elizabeth Banks making complaints about why people did not go see her film did not make anyone want to feel sorry for her and go watch it.

Next week sees the release of Rian Johnson's Knives Out which looks like a fun time as long as he stays far away from Star Wars.
